is your site mobile ready?

Is Your Site Mobile Ready For Google? Escape The Penalties

Google are getting deadly serious about sites being mobile friendly – it’s not surprising – and here’s why…

Mobile use has grown so rapidly, it’s become a major source for online searches, and the less ‘friendly’ a site is when seen on a mobile device the LESS people will use search engines to find stuff.

And for Google who rely on 95% of their income from advertisers, that is going to seriously affect their income (and therefore their shareholders).

So what’s that got to do with you?

If Google deem your site to be mobile unfriendly, they will demote you in the search results. This is not some made up scare tactic, Google have said so themselves and made it perfectly clear what will happen.

The question is, how do you find out if your website is mobile aware, and if it is, how compatible is it? Will it pass Google’s stringent mobile tests?

Well, now you can find out direct from Google themselves. They have put up a mobile test site. Simply enter your domain and within a few seconds you will get a full report with help on what to do about (some) of it.

If you’re lucky enough to be using a platform like WordPress, the simplest solution to your woes will be to change themes.

And even better, you can use Google’s new mobile awareness checker to check on your new chosen theme before you even install it (assuming the vendor has an example site of course).

So without further ado, here’s the link to check your site:
