List Of Free Web Hosting Sites To Host Your Site And Post Articles On

If you’re looking to expand your reach on the web, you may want to open accounts with the many free publishing sites out there.

There’s an enormous range of them including the most famous, which are Blogger.com (owned by Google) and WordPress.com (owned by the people behind the WordPress platform – WordPress.com lets you publish articles on a wordpress based site without needing to buy or host a domain or install WordPress on it).

Unfortunately many spammers use these platforms in an attempt to artificially boost their main sites by publishing articles on them that link back to their main site.

When it’s done legitimately, that’s fine, but Google can detect very accurately if these platforms are being used in an attempt to game the system, so only use these platforms if you are doing it for the right reasons (ie. to help other people find what they need – and not to boost some domains popularity etc.).

I should point out, this is not some ethical or moral stance on my side, just a warning that if you want real people visiting your site because you genuinely want to help them, then don’t run the risk of losing your ranking positions by gaming the system. Just sayin…

So on to the list (I’ve not set any links here as this could be construed as some kind of directory, which is not my intention):

Quentin Pain

My earliest ambition was to become a rockstar (my band once backed The Waves who went on to win the Eurovision Song Contest). Unfortunately I decided to start a business to support my rock star dream, and as luck would have it, the business took off big time and the rock star dream died. I was 23. By the time I reached 50, my total business count was 6. The last one was Accountz that went from zero to 36,000 customers in 6 years. I now run ProofMEDIA Ltd and my specialism is copy that wins trust, engagement and long term sales. I'm also a published author (including a Dummies title), have won many awards including the IAB Small Business Mentor of the Year, and am a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
